Well, this is a post i was trying to avoid.  ALOT of our CJ affiliates, even though we have said it over and over in our program terms and conditions. I have spoke about it here, the keyword “Bodylastics” guys, i mean come on. I have let alot of bodylastics affiliates slide, where the management has wanted them removed. Well after talking to CJ.com and finding out some channels i am going to have to start taking action. So starting March 3rd, 2008 i will begin expiring affiliates who continuously bid on “Bodylastics”.

I just have to share this. TO bands blew off the shelves yesterday and I bet not even a a 1/3 of the affiliates have links up.  We had been getting alot of requests to take TO Bands and market them with our affiliates and it has proven to be a great move on all parts.

OK back to business.. attention affiliates! those of you that are bloggers or use xml feeds I can now convert your csv product feeds to rss and xml feeds for you. If you would like help doing this email me at charlie@bodylastics.com and i will tell you what we need to do. The xml feeds and great and help “Me” populate blogs with related products.

Being friday i am hoping we move into a productive weekend. TTYL see ya monday

TO Bands are now available for our publishers!  We are uploading and adding banners and text links now. You can log in to your account at CJ.com and get a simple text link to get rolling.

The product catalog has been uploaded and waiting to hear from cj.com about it.. For those of you who use csv and xml feeds this is going to be a great asset as it has all the Bodylastics systems including TO Bands!

We are finishing up the affiliate testing for TO Bands these are going to be the hottest thing to hit the market. We have all new banners and text links waiting to be unleashed. As many of you know the TO Bands are the strongest Highest resistance bands that we have produced! Blake (founder of Bodylastics) and Terrell Owens both sat down to create a workout that would push the limits of most men!

As soon as testing is complete the new banners will be up and we’ll get rocking with TO BANDS!

HOLA!

As everyone knows social networking sites like Myspace, Facebook and Squidoo are huge sites generating millions of page views each day. When done correctly these sites can and will generate huge sales numbers for you as a internet marketer. While some people try and spam these social networking sites they soon find out that their hours of spamming could have generated them some serious traffic if done the right way.

FRIENDS - everybody has friends.. when targeting a specific market such as exercise, fitness, or just looking for others into sports and athletics these people are always intrested in talking about ways to stay fit. The  More Friends the better. There is software that will help gather friends but a couple hours a day will prove better as you can find people with similar intrests, instead of everyone and everything.

Profile and Banners - When you set up your profile keep it simple not too many FLASHY THINGS, or BLINGING TEXT.. though some people love them (my wife for example) if someone wants to read your profile or even see the banners you have on there.. it could be difficult with a really busy page.

Bulletins and Broadcasts - Send out bulletins, shout outs what ever.. let people know your active and not a bot. There is a greater chance they will cherck out your page is you update it reguarly addiing info and pictures. Bulletins can be used to tell people you got your Bodylastics Set today and you are going to blog about the use of it.. These things work generate intrest!

This should help get you started on Social Networking Marketing. I will touch on this again as i just got Bodylastics theior own myspace also.. Check us out and add us as a friend http://www.myspace.com/bodylastics

Bloggers i am trying to find a way to embed CJ codes to rss daily blogs feeds. I will keep you informed on this one since i am a big blogger.

Embedded video with links and your affiliate code are coming also. These are going to monsterous marketing material when released.

HOLA!

Once again we are trying to expand the Bodylastics Brand. As some of you already know we have partnered with Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys to create the  TOBands - Super Strong Man Edition. THIS STUFF IS HOT!!!after working out some bugs and finishing up some marketing material TO Bands will be available shortly to our marketers. We have listened to what you want and you know that the TO Bands are going to blow the walls off Commission Junction. As soon as the tracking is put in place you will be the first to know! And the first to get your ads up and running.

Determining Keywords and SEO

January 30th, 2008

When researching search phrases and targeting keywords for your SEO campaign, research your target industry, talk to your potential customers and make use of the themes within your website. In addition, consider these tips:

  • Determine the intent of the visitor Thoroughly research all search terms to ensure that the searcher intended to find your product or service. E.g. reconsider targeting the keyword “DVD” if you store only sells blank DVD discs, the chances are the searcher intended to find DVD movies rather than blank media.
  • Don’t always rely on the numbers Google, Overture and WordTracker use historical date when displaying search phrase frequencies and neither archive more than a few months back. Therefore you must know your industry and account for any seasonal or other trends. E.g. the search phrase “red roses” will be more popular for Valentines than at Christmas.
  • Look for opportunities Identify the search phrases that have been untapped by your competitors. Some search terms may have slightly fewer searches, but may have dramatically fewer competitors.
  • Target the right pages This cannot be stressed enough. Do not try and target every keyword on every page. Identify themes within your website and group relevant search phrases around those pages. You will see much better results

1. Connect the search experience to the landing page experience.

Wherever possible, use the same language on your landing pages as you do in your ads. It’s a real disconnect when you click on an ad that reads, “Online Conversion Rate Counter” only to land on a page selling a “Conversion Calculating Service.”

2. Integrate your landing page into your site.
Some advertisers make the mistake of building stand-alone landing pages for certain keywords that are more-or-less “divorced” from the rest of their sites. This can make your business seem sketchy to potential customers, who you want to be able to trust you with their credit card info. A consistent experience across all of your pages and product offerings can help create a more convincing experience. (More on this below.)

3. Gain their trust.
Use trusted, third-party security providers and make sure their badges and icons are clearly visible.

4. Offer tips and suggestions.
How can potential customers best use the product? If you’re selling steaks, offer a steak au poivre recipe. There’s a potential for up- and cross-sell here, as well. Perhaps monsieur would enjoy a nice bottle of cabernet sauvignon with his tender, juicy filet mignon, oui? Just don’t go crazy with it, mon ami. (See 5 and 6, below.)

5. Stay on target.
If your ad specifies John Deere tractors, make sure all of your tractors for sale on that page are John Deere tractors. In other words, if I had been looking for Caterpillar bulldozers I’d have clicked on an ad for them instead.

6. Cut the clutter.
Your landing page should not be too generic and cluttered. This ties in with the tip above. If your ad is for discount wholesale 7Up, don’t clutter the page up with other un-colas. This helps keep the lead focused.

7. Ban the bling.
Your landing page should be cleanly and attractively designed, but avoid distractions like music or other audio, animations and revolving logos. These can distract prospective customers from their purpose, which is to buy the product or service that they need, hopefully from you. Again, keep ‘em focused on the task.

8. Give them something to do.
A little interactivity can help keep people engaged. For some products, especially big-ticket items, things like video testimonials and 360-degree tours may be good sales aids. Just let customers decide whether or not they want to view them by giving them control. And remember Tip 7: Keep the bling to a minimum.

9. Write right.
Language counts. Think of your landing page as a salesperson in a showroom. What would a salesperson say to a prospect to help “get to yes?” Here are a few classic pointers:

  • Make sure that your headers and subheads are clear and direct.
  • Deliver your value proposition right away.
  • Offer a persuasive message near the call-to-action—You know: “Don’t be left out of this amazing offer,” etc.
  • Be nice with your call-to-action copy—”Submit” and “Buy Now” can sound like orders and put some people off. “Try it Now” sounds nicer.
